DNS and Active Directory Configuration
a. Check DNS has been installed in the server, after that to configure active
directory service the first step is click StartRun, then in the dialog box
write “dcpromo” then click OK.

b. Will appear Active Directory installation wizard, then click next button. Appear
compatibility explain with version Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 with SP3 or
before not compatible.

c. Will appear Domain Controller type, after that choose the first option “Domain in
a new forest” in Create New Domain because this is the firs domain that we
create. Like the following picture:



d. Insert name of the Domain that you want to create, for this enterprise with the
name is “gramediaku” and then click next. After that will appear NetBIOS Domain
Name with the default name GRAMEDIAKU.



e. Appear location of database folder and Log with the default that is given
C:\WINDOWS\NTDS and C:\WINDOWS\NTDS then click next.

f. Appear location it shared folder system volume, with the default in C:\WINDOWS
\SYSVOL

g. After that will appear dialog box that explain the DNS server is not configure.

h. Appear permission dialog box, let the default that is given by system then click
next. Insert the password for login as Administrator and write again to confirm
the password.

i. Appear the Summary dialog box that contains information which processed and click
next to start the configuration wait until the configuration process finish.
After that click finish button to completing the Active Directory Installation
Wizard.
